Cutting Heat Losses in Firing Coke Oven Batteries.

Firing of coke oven batteries consists of the firing and the reversing period. A modification of the classic reversing method makes it possible to decrease the duration of the conventional firing period, to eliminate heat losses, to stabilize the pressure and drought values in the entire heating system, and to liquidate the interaction of gaseous substances the mixture of which is within certain limits to be considered as explosive. The new process can be implemented in coke oven batteries fired either by rich or poor gas.
