摘要：
We evaluate the stresses arising in the surface layer of metal during cavitation action and examine their influence on the service life of materials. It is shown that the service life of the metals is determined both by the vacancy motion activation energy and by the surface wave excitation threshold. We propose an equation of erosion process kinetics that makes it possible to satisfactorily describe the process of cavitational damage of the metals.
