摘要
An intelligent lifting device developed by Goulds Pump that eliminates all the risk and the costly practises related to development of pumps is discussed. The intelligence of the device, used for picking up heavy castings and placing them onto a soft-jaw chuck or into the milling machine, includes pre-programmable limits and speed reduction points to maintain safe operations. The advantages of this new lifting device is that it has created safer working conditions and there is a reduction in the damage to the product as well as to the plant machines. With the development of this device, Goulds has increased its productivity at the workstation to 100% and has decreased its on-floor inventory by as much as 50%.
