摘要
A systematic comparative study was made of a proposed heat-treatment scheme for case-hardened chromium-nickel steel (of type 12 Kh2N4A) and the standard heat treatment for this steel. It is shown that the new method makes it possible to greatly reduce the length of the total heat-treatment, cycle not only by eliminating normalization and high tempering but also by the possibility of decreasing the holding time in the hardening heat treatment stage (quenching), which is related to the platelet structure of the initial (prior to quenching) microstructures. This ensures a higher mechanical-property level. In addition, a great improvement in the quality of the diffusion layer is obtained.
