ADL EXTRACTIVE COKING PROCESS.

This article deals with coal liquefaction processes and describes in detail the Arthur D. Little, Inc. , extractive coking coal liquefaction process (ADL Process). which has the advantage of using equipment and hardware that has already been proved commercially in petroleum refining operations. The economics of this process are compared with two other processes producing a similar product - the H-Coal and the Synthoil processes - and the potential for chemicals production is discussed. In the reported program the basic concept of the ADL Process was tested in a cooperative venture.
