Thematic Map Report.

The author gives a brief survey of the recommendations presented in the Thematic Map Report. This report is prepared by a committee appointed by the Ministry of Environment. Main topic is a nationwide plan for organized mapping of various natural resources and features (geology, soil, vegetation etc. ); demography; communication and utility networks; cultural monuments etc. 17 different themes are evaluated. For each theme recommendations are given to mapping area, scale, institution(s) in charge etc. , and costs are estimated. The advantages gained by better coordination of thematic geodata production is emphasized.
