摘要
Modern market requires to improve quality of steel. This is provided by means of decrease in sulfur content in metal. Efficient desulfurizing is performed in case of processing the cast iron in ladle. In this case, magnesium is added into the cast iron. Magnesium can be injected by pneumatic method or supplied by method of cored wire feeding. Injection of magnesium is simple method. However, expensive additional equipment is required. In case of cored wire, process of the wire manufacture is required. High evaporation of magnesium is observed. In order to reduce evaporation, passivating of magnesium is provided. Successful production of 09G2F, 10G2FB, and 13G1S4, and other steels from desulfurized cast iron has been performed.
