摘要
Vacuum melted high purity iron, Armco iron, and silicon steels with 0. 83 to 3. 80% Si were zone remelted at speeds of 68 to 2. 25 mm/hr. An effect on coercive field strength was attained only at rates of 11. 3 mm/hr or lower. The commercial silicon steels had mean values of 69 to 114 moe, provided C was reduced to 0. 008 to 0. 011%, P to 0. 01 to 0. 073%, S to less than 0. 003%, and O and N each to about 0. 001%. The sum of Al, Cr, Mn, Ni, and Cu was between 0. 36 and 0. 45%.
