摘要
Often only small portions of garments involved in fire-related accidents remain; therefore, it would be desirable to either modify existing test methods or to develop new small scale test methods in order to assess the flammability characteristics of these fabrics. To that end, we have modified existing test methods and developed new test methods utilizing small fabric samples to determine the flammability characteristics of fabrics. Test methods of this type would also be useful in assessing the effectiveness of flame retardants added to textile substrates.
