摘要
This paper gives a brief resume of the history of national communications in the U. K. leading to a survey of the present state of the art. The extension of national communications into the international field is covered with a forward look at the total scene as it may develop over the next few years. The subject matter is treated under the three main sub-sections of trunk or bearer systems, switching systems and customer apparatus.
