An active twin-T notch filter with feedback by a voltage controlled voltage source is presented and its transfer function is discussed. A simple relation between the feedback parameter and the 3-dB step bandwidth is given. The amplitude response in the step band is described by an approximation formula. The tests with a laboratory- type line-frequency stop filter show that the idealized theory describes the real circuit quite well. With a 3-dB stop bandwidth of 10 Hz the line frequency is rejected by at least 40 dB.
