Calculations are made of the broadening of a gaussian beam propagating in a turbulent medium using a modified von Karman spectrum to characterize the medium. Results generally reduce to those corresponding to the Kolmogorov spectrum and the Rytov approximation. Results can be applied to arbitrary source configurations.
