The k- epsilon model for the turbulent analysis of Bingham plastic fluids, previously proposed by the authors, is applied to the turbulent analysis of Bingham plastic fluids, with a low Reynolds number, in a pipe. The characteristics of the turbulent energy and the friction coefficient mainly are investigated and it is found that the Reynolds number at which the calculated turbulent energy disappears, agrees with the critical Reynolds number (experimental one) with the Hedstrom number ranging from 3 multiplied by 10**4 to 3 multiplied by 10**5, and the calculated friction coefficients in the transition region agree with the experimental values in the same range of the Hedstrom number. Besides, it is shown that these results can be explained qualitatively by considering the behavior of the disturbance in the fluid.
