PROPPANT-SETTLING CORRELATIONS FOR NON-NEWTONIAN FLUIDS.

This paper expands and improves the data analysis for estimating particle-settling velocity in non-Newtonian fracturing fluids. It is shown that the available settling-velocity correlations for Newtonian fluids cannot be used for non-Newtonian fluids when an apparent viscosity term is substituted for Newtonian viscosity. Significant deviation from Newtonian correlations has been shown if such an approach is taken.
