摘要：

The increased complexities of construction projects and maintenance of the cost, quality and time-bound schedules have made the adoption of scientific management imperative. This paper presents the need for a comprehensive understanding of scientific management and the use of computers in construction management. Special characteristics of management approach in construction industry, new concepts of construction management, organization control, and personnel information systems have been highlighted. The use of computers as a project management tool being adopted in the developed countries has been brought out together with a review of the systems and software that is available in the UK.
