Products of the hydraulic and pneumatic industries are often subjected to extreme stresses and are used under severe climatic conditions. Chemical nickel coatings with phosphorus contents of between 10 and 13% provide optimal functional coatings for these purposes because of their good corrosion resistance, uniform coating distribution and good slip properties. Dispersions with PTFE and double coatings of differing hardnesses and ductility are possible options in specific cases. The use of chemical nickel deposits in the hydraulic and pneumatic industries is demonstrated by 10 examples.
