摘要
The transient temperature field in a domain containing a finite source with thermal conductivity significantly exceeding that of the domain is solved by combining a finite-difference scheme with respect to time and the variational method in each of the time layers. The suggested method, in addition to yielding satisfactory results, allows a significant reduction in computational time and in the required computer memory.
