Aluminium conductors in paper insulated telephone cables

摘要：
It is reported that the Australian Post Office decided to substitute aluminum for copper in paper insulated cables. The decision was made with the knowledge that paper insulated cables will comprise the bulk of larger size balanced pair subscribers of larger size balanced pair subscribers main and junction cables installed in Australia over the next decade. Economic, installation and maintenance aspects are discussed, along with cable manufacture. Field experience is described.
