The problem with programmable controllers is that differences that will be met in application are not obvious. It is very difficult to choose among the many types on the market from the sales literature because, for example, memory capacities which look the same on paper really are not in practice. Program modifability, troubleshooting, and documentation vary widely. These topics are discussed, along with programmable controller safety.
