A description is given of a technique of writing simulation programs using standard Pl/1 with the aid of a collection of Pl/1 callable procedures. Using this paper as a guide, the programmer should be able to write his/her simulation program in the standard Pl/1 language and use the supplied routines to assist in the control of the simulation. The routines supplied are those of the run-time library of the simulation language DESPl/1 developed by the principal anchor.
