Numerical Method of Calculation of Heating Rates and Temperature Stresses for Set Cross-sections of Pipelines.

A numerical method of calculation is proposed which makes it possible to calculate automatically not only thermal stresses but also the heating rates of a pipeline at a set cross-section. The method of calculation of thermal stresses in the pipeline wall is based on the plane quasistatic thermoelasticity problem reduced to a successive solution of two simple problems: the problem of calculation of temperature distribution in the pipe wall cross-section, and the problem of calculation of thermoelastic stresses for the set cross section in accordance with the calculated temperature distribution.
