摘要
In operating the transversal filter-type automatic equalizer, the tap weight adjusting coefficient alpha is kept constant, while in the equalizer proposed in this paper, this coefficient is altered at every tap weight adjustment to minimize the adjustment error and thus achieve high-speed convergence. The coefficient alpha is calculated from the convolution of the tap weight and input and the correlation between the tap output and equalizer output errors. This equalizer is equipped with an alpha calculation circuit and registers in addition to the conventional equalizer configuration. The convergence is about 2-4 times faster than that of the ordinary equalizer.
