摘要
Efforts are being made to extend the application range of cross-linked polyethylene insulated (XLPE) cable by increasing design voltages and refining technology for the development of accessories. From 1960, when the first 6 kv XLPE cable was made, to the present, when we are working with 500 kv-class accessories, attention has been given to proven performance. With these higher voltages, applied stress has increased, thicker insulation is needed and conductors are larger. This increase in cable volume has necessitated technological advance. This article presents an overview of the technical progress made in the past to show where this technology stands today.
