Over half a century ago in 1935, Escher Wyss delivered its first pusher centrifuge. It was big and heavy, and its discharge capacity was modest by today's standards. Relatively soon design improvements were introduced opening numerous applications in continuous mechanical solid-liquid separation processes. Barely 20 years later came the crucial advance to multistage pusher centrifuges. Continuous further development work yielded ever more efficient machines with patented design details.
