An experimental facility of a solar total energy system, whch generates electricity and heat was constructed in March 1982 at the Tsukuba Second Research Center, Agency of Industrial Science & Technology, Ministry of International Trade & Industry. Its purpose was to demonstrate the technical and economic feasibility of the system. An outline of the facility and system performance is given.
