CERAMIC-TO-METAL SEALING MECHANISM.

Reference is made to the authors' previous paper (published in the Dec 1976 issue, v 9 n 4, p 107-112) on the metallizing process of alumina ceramics. In this paper, subsequent operations, are described, namely nickel-plating the metallized surfaces and brazing them to metal parts. Changes were studied in the microstructure of seals coated with nickel-plated molybdenum layers bonded at various temperatures and using three different brazing solder metals.
