摘要
One of the distinctive features of vibroimpact hardening is the capacity of the work medium (consisting of a three-dimensional system of steel balls in a liquid) to acquire an arbitrarily complex shape of the treated part and, by periodically colliding with it, to simultaneously generate a large number of plastic impressions across its surface. The surface layer formation in vibroimpact hardening is characterized by the generation of numerous partially overlapping plastic impressions due to the circulatory displacements of the vibrating work medium in relation to the treated part. Lack of data about the mechanism of surface layer formation which accounts for the probability of formation of partially overlapping impressions complicates the computation of treatment parameters. In operation the per-cycle impression formation is studied by means of a model consisting of a flat 'treated' surface and a die 'colliding' with it, which has openings having diameters do and located at a distance l apart from each other, these openings modeling scaled up plastic impressions. The results of modeling are experimentally verified on the basis of the magnitude of deflection of a flat spectrum which underwent one-sided vibroimpact hardening.
