Syndie is a synthetic diamond composite material consisting of an intergrown mass of randomly orientated diamond particles. It is produced by hot-pressing accurately graded, high quality synthetic diamond micron powder. This article describes Syndie blanks, their properties, and the manner in which the structure affects die fabrication and performance.
