The results of the study of a low head H. P. S. hydroturbine unit with various guide apparatuses are presented. Complex comarative tests and experimental data analysis on the power stand allow a guide apparatus with blades of various forms to be recommended for application in hydraulic machines. The comparative data of power tests and the results of measuring the speed and pressure field in the turbine water passageway are analyzed. The results obtained can be applied to developing generating units with water passageway of an efficient form as well as to modernizing the equipment of the functioning HPS.
