If a defect exists in the tube wall of an LMFBR power plant steam generator, high-pressure water or steam in the tube leaks out into the sodium and a sodium-water reaction takes place. At present, the detection of a change in hydrogen or oxygen concentration resulting from the sodium-water-reaction is the most effective method of water-leak detection. Outlines and test results are presented in this paper for in-sodium hydrogen meter, electrochemical oxygen meter, oxygen-hydrogen meter module, and cover gas hydrogen meter water-leakage detection instrument systems.
