This volume contains 17 papers in the field of biochemistry and associated applications of computers (for data processing and modeling) and of mathematical statistics (for chemical-screening problems). Some of the subjects discussed are metaphase chromosome organization, bioreceptors, molecular optical activity, biological membranes, membrane-bound enzymes, biological structural and kinetic analysis using synchrotron X-ray sources, enzyme catalysis, proteins, nucleic acid, and protein-nucleic acid interactions, a genetic approach to the study of the nervous system, oscillating enzymes, and the linear dichroism technique for determining the orientation of biological chromophores. All papers are extensively provided with references.
