摘要
A synthesis system is made up of several modules: orthographic/ phonetic transcription, automatic generation of prosody and production of the acoustic speech signal. The study presented here is particularly concerned with the prosodic module. In this article we shall describe the SYNTHEX system used to formalize, validate and improve prosodic knowledge in speech synthesis starting from text. SYNTHEX uses artificial intelligence techniques. Developed at CNET (the French National Center for Telecommunication Studies), it provides a model for future developments in this field.
