摘要：
The author emphasizes the contrast between the advanced state of today's telecommuncation facilities and the requirements which still have to be met in this field. The following were named as being important tasks on the telecommunication sector in the near future: at least one telephone in every household, telex in every company, the introduction of office teletyping as a new service, global standardization of facsimile transmission, introduction of ″world″ languages for data communication and the continuation of video telecommunication trials.
