摘要
An investigation of the surface motion of a jet issuing from an overflow weir on entering the pool of wate downstream is described. The study showed that the flow in the entrainment region is to a fair approximation the same as in a plane free jet, the dissipation of total head is governed by the same power law throughout the circulation zone, and the variation of maximum reverse velocity follows a Gaussian distribution curve.
