摘要：
The efficiency and accuracy of the sinking, or ram, electrical discharge machining process have been continually improving But to achieve maximum efficiency from the process and justify it for applications involving more machinable materials, the cost and convenience of forming the electrodes consumed in the process must be improved. While EDM electrodes can be made from many metals, graphite has emerged as the best tool material because of its easy machinability and high metal removal capability. The forming techniques described apply to graphite electrodes.
