摘要
In order to develop good mechanical properties selection of a welding process, weld consumables, and post-weld heat treatment compatible with the intended service is of major importance. This paper illustrates how these selections influence the properties of the weld metal, heat-affected zone and base metal for six pressure vessel steels. The balance of strength and toughness achieved is indicated and the effect of process variables reported. The steels studied include those for high- and low-temperature service as well as general purpose applications.
