A review of a new guide to workplace lighting, which has been published by Zumtobel Staff (ZS), is presented. The guide puts the latest visual research findings to the fore and discusses most of the UK codes. The guide is particularly hard on LG3 and its fixation on lighting for VDT screens rather than people. Important topics include design guidance on lighting the ceiling, working with daylight, lighting controls and scene setting.
