摘要
Price-resposive retail demand, which holds the key to competitive electricity markets is discussed. Electricity price consists of two components namely electricity commodity and insurance premium which protects customers from price variations. Price-responsive retail helps the customers in lowering their electricity bills by self-insuring and by shifting electricity use away from high to low-price periods.
