ANALYSIS OF THE COUPLING OF THE ELECTRON BEAM AND CAVITIES AND ITS APPLICATION TO LARGE-SIGNAL SIMULATION OF KLYSTRON AMPLIFIERS.

摘要
In making a large-signal analysis of the multimode klystron, the coupling of the electron beam to an intermediate cavity plays an important role. The authors presents in this paper an analytical technique and a method for estimating the saturation power efficiency. Comparison between theory and experiment was made with a Toshiba model 1AV81 klystron made for UHF-TV broadcasting. This klystron has a saturation output power efficiency as large as 65%. Simulation gave results on output power efficiency and output phase which were in good agreement with experimental data.
