The use of diamond rollers offers high flexibility in that the edge geometry of grinding wheels can be trued with only one dressing roller. In addition, the topography of CBN grinding wheels can be controlled via individual dressing parameters. The shape of the dressing roller has a significant influence on the accuracy of the edge geometry of the trued grinding wheel. This shape is effected on the one hand by the edge geometry of the grinding wheels and on the other hand by the turning radius of the dressing roller. With extreme variations in stress on the dressing roller, the use of smaller turning radii leads to improved geometric accuracy of the blade edge without the need for wear-compensatory data input.
