Soon after the oil crisis a number of initiatives were taken to promote RES and especially wind power in the Danish energy system. In 1975 a committee set up by the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences (ATV) published a report proposing a broad wind energy programme in Denmark [Danish Academy; 1975]. This was followed by a second report from the Academy in 1976 outlining a five-year programme in the field of wind energy [Danish Academy; 1976].
