An analysis of the trends in the supply, demand and price of old corrugated containers (OCC) in a volatile North American market is presented. Notably, demand for OCC waste is seen to increase further as ecological concerns push up recycling rates. However, prices reportedly will remain volatile, with tendency to become higher. The price fluctuations over the years are attributed to several typical market forces and external factors.
