Study on the grain size of LZW axletree steel used for railroad vehicle

摘要
The effects of microalloying element Al, V and N on the grain size of LZW axletree steel were investigated. The results indicate that the proper range of acid-soluble Al content should be controlled to satisfy the grain size requirement. The addition of microalloying V into steel refines grain and increases grain coarsening temperature. Treatment in high-vacuum condition for long time is harmful to the grain size of LZW axletree steel melted with LD.
