A calculating model for the pressure wave in the exhaust pipe - the so called 'amendment for filling and emptying' method is introduced in this paper. It can be applied to the MPC (Modular Pulse Converter) system. The results of simulated calculation which shows a good approximation to the test curves confirm its reliability. The suitability of MPC system for the super-turbocharged system is also discussed. A calculation shows the performance with MPC system is better than that with constant pressure charging.
