摘要：
Recent trends in the development and use of solid state induction motor and synchronous motor drives are indicated. While the former find wide application in small, medium and fairly large power variable speed drives, the latter invariably are employed in large power applications. Although adjustable speed solid state induction motor drives are developed by combining three phase motors with static stator voltage or stator frequency or rotor circuit resistance controllers for specific applications, latest innovations in power semiconductor drives and developments in micro-processors are making variable frequency inverter fed ac motor drives highly efficient, responsive to input changes and cost competitive.
