摘要
Chrysler is implementing a $2.1 billion redesign program for 1998 to replace its LH models and produce sedans that are as distinct from each other as they are from the competition, yet deliver uncompromised levels of comfort, safety, quality, and driving performance, while reducing weight, noise, vibration, and harshness. By electronically linking product creation with process development, development time of Concorde and Intrepid was cut from 39 to 31 months, saving over $75 million. Five new models have also been developed, along with three new aluminum V6 engines and an improved paint shop and other equipment upgrades, in considerably short time using the same computer system the company uses for process simulation.
