摘要
The interaction between a low-density relativistic electron beam and a spatially bounded magnetoactive plasma is analyzed. The longitudinal electromagnetic waves excited by the nonmonoenergetic beam are examined allowing the collisions between plasma electrons and heavy particles (neutral molecules or ions); the maximum growth rates are computed as functions of the system parameters. It is shown that an energy spread in the beam electrons results in a stabilization of hydrodynamic instability and the appearance of threshold currents.
