摘要：
A description is given of some of the more visible international efforts by industrial, governmental, and academic laboratories to better understand the mechanism of polymer flammability and look at means of improving the fire retardancy of polymers. An effort will be made to concentrate more on recent work, and to look also at studies on the combustion products of polymer fires and consider some of their more obvious physiological effects on man.
