The paper presents, basing on the model tests, an analysis of states of earth pressure around the pile subjected to compression and tension forces and some proposals on calculation of bearing capacity of tension pile driven in cohesionless soil media. The formula was derived from the state limit equilibrium equation of cohesionless soil medium, based on the assumed slip lines, which were observed in apparatus of Taylor-Schneebeli type during pulling out of pile model.
