Active brazing. A joining technology for oxide and nonoxide engineering ceramics

摘要
Modern high performance ceramics can be brazed with metals or ceramics in a vacuum or under shielding gas using suitably constituted active brazing alloys. The formation thereby of the joining zone is determined by thermodynamic circumstances as well as by the brazing process itself. Brazing alloys for moderate operating temperatures were developed. New developments in brazing with raised operating temperatures are presented for joining nonoxide ceramics.
